The Societal Reset

Updated: Dec 8

There is talk of a societal reset in the corridors of global elite organizations such as the World Economic Forum.  This major reset of the world economy is being envisaged in many ways, and its main aim is to bring about sustainable development.  It usually follows global events such as the wars we are seeing at the present moment.  The seriousness of events that we are facing cannot be underestimated.  My projections into the future are based on an analysis of global trends, an understanding of the historical context in which we live and the ancient wisdom of the Vedas.

I have also researched numerous poignant predictions by famed astrologers such as the late Baba Vanga (from Bulgaria) and Nostradamus, as well as accomplished Vedic astrologers such as such as P.V Narsimha Rao, in order to glean into what the future may possibly look like. In the words of Narsimha Rao, we will see change of the likes that have seen not in decades but in centuries.  The events are significant because we are about to see the advent of a new age (the Satya Yuga).  Recently, in one of his election victory speeches, President Trump promised that he would bring a new golden age to America.  I have explained in detail how the yuga is changing in my book The Spiritual Science of the Vedas.  The new age will see both technological progress and the natural lifestyle, and society will have to find a balance between the two.

The next ten to fifteen years is predicted to change the society in which we live in significantly - yet, the interesting thing is that we have enough time to prepare.  These days it can be seen that efforts are being made internationally to mitigate the effects of wars and it is commendable that the United Nations is able to bring about consensus on some important issues.  These challenging times demand actions such as ramping up local food production, restructuring of the economy,  reinforcing the key economic pillars and review of supply chains which sustain our lives.  Fortunately, the wars we have seen yet have not disrupted global supply chains entirely and we can still see that the movement of goods and services worldwide has not been affected in a major way despite significant influences over cost of raw materials, increasing freight charges and so on.

In terms of technology, we will see the advent of driverless cars, new housing developments such as the Tesla Home and new modes of transportation such as the Chinese-made Maglev trains.  Driverless vehicles are already being used in airports around the world to move passengers across short distances.  The Tesla Home is a $10,000 affordable home which can be transported and built anywhere and is equipped with the amenities that modern houses need to have.  New modes of transportation are also being promoted such as the Indian Hydrogen trains and Chinese Maglev trains. Maglev trains are trains that can reach speeds up to 1000 km per hour!

We will also see the introduction of the Industry 5.0, which, according to the European Union, provides a vision of industry that aims beyond productivity as the sole goals, and reinforces the role and the contribution of industry to society.  “It places the wellbeing of the worker at the centre of the production process and uses new technologies to provide prosperity beyond jobs and growth while respecting the production limits of the planet.”  It applies not only to industry but to every organization and puts societal welfare at the centre of sustainable development. It differs from Industry 4.0 in that its goals are more societal rather than technological, and its adoption will bring more social justice and fairness.

We need to put more emphasis on environmental preservation and promote the natural lifestyle.  It appears that we are moving more and more away from natural ways of living; yet, there are novel concepts such as eco villages which are becoming an alternative to city life.  In terms of industry, we should aim at making industry smarter, less energy intensive and more environmentally friendly.  We should also promote the welfare state because it provides many facilities such as free healthcare, free transport and free education to people who come from underprivileged backgrounds and hence precludes social unrest.  When it comes to finance, we are likely going to see decentralized banking as envisaged by the famous inventor of the blockchain, Satoshi Nakamoto.

The new Satya Yuga will see more and more people becoming vegetarians or vegans.  People will prefer vegan meat to animal meat and this will be because we will have realized that it is unnecessary to cause violence to animals only because of food. Surprisingly, vegan meat can also be tastier. However, at the present moment we need to see more competitive food prices when it comes to vegan meat and restaurants need to have more vegetarian or vegan menus available for people to choose from. I have already explained in previous articles how moving to vegan meat will benefit society spiritually as it will lessen our karma.  Vegetarian food is also more environmentally friendly and less costly generally.

I hope that this article has been informative and I invite you to read my book The Spiritual Science of the Vedas if you wish to know more about the ancient wisdom of the Vedas.
